Elbasan Ethnographic Museum

The Elbasan Ethnographic Museum occupies an 18th-century building with traditional artifacts, tools, and garments spread across two floors featuring carved wooden ceilings and decorative details. Period furnishings fill each room, giving visitors a sense of how a prosperous family lived during that era.

The museum opened in 1986 within the former residence of the Sejdin family, converting half of their traditional two-story house into exhibition space. This transformation preserved the original structure while documenting the daily life of the local upper class.

Separate lounges for men and women with fireplaces reveal how social life was organized in traditional Albanian homes. The displayed crafts and clothing styles show visitors the regional patterns that shaped daily life in this community.
