Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës

Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës is a public higher education institution spread across three campus locations. The main Spitallë campus covers 55 hectares and features conference halls, computer laboratories, and multiple lecture halls for instruction.

The Albanian government established this institution in December 2005 as a new higher education facility. It welcomed its first cohort of around 1,300 students when it opened in October 2006.

The university honors an Austrian actor of Albanian descent whose name it carries. The academic approach follows American educational principles and shapes how teaching and learning happen here.

The institution offers study programs across six faculties covering Business, Education, Political and Legal Studies, and Information Technology. The three campus locations are spread across the city, so planning which area to visit beforehand helps with navigation.

The Faculty of Applied Integrated Studies adopts the German berufsakademie model, which lets students work in their field while completing coursework. This approach merges classroom learning with hands-on professional experience throughout their studies.
