Baitul Awwal Mosque, Ahmadiyya mosque in Tirana, Albania.
Baitul Awwal Mosque is a prayer house that combines modern design with traditional Islamic features, most notably its two white minarets that rise from the structure. The building can accommodate up to 2,500 worshippers and is located in the Kashar suburb on the western approach to the city.
The mosque opened in 1995 after the Ahmadiyya community, which had been present in Albania since 1934, raised funds from its members for construction. This opening marked a significant moment for the community's visible presence in the city.
The mosque functions as a spiritual center where the Ahmadiyya community gathers regularly for prayer and learning activities throughout the year. It plays a central role in how this religious group connects with one another in the city.
The mosque is located in the Kashar suburb on the western side of Tirana and can be easily reached from the Durrës road. Visitors should be aware that the building is active during prayer times and may have limited hours for non-worshippers.
Next to the main building stands the Darul Falah house, which serves as a mission center providing extra resources and support for the local Ahmadiyya community. This arrangement reveals how the community extends its religious and social work beyond the prayer space itself.
