Hotel Internacional, Historical hotel in Tirana, Albania
The Hotel Internacional stands 56 meters tall with 15 floors, featuring a facade decorated with ice-white marble and prefabricated reinforced concrete panels.
Built in 1979 on the former site of an Orthodox cathedral, the building served as Albania's tallest structure during the communist period.
The hotel, designed by architect Valentina Pistoli, represents the architectural transition from Soviet-era style to modern Albanian hospitality standards.
Located at the intersection of Zogu I Boulevard and Dibër Street, the hotel provides access to the National History Museum and Palace of Culture.
The building contains underground escape tunnels specifically designed for high-ranking Politburo members during the communist period rather than fire safety purposes.
