Yerevan Botanical Garden, Botanical garden in Avan district, Yerevan, Armenia.
The garden extends across 80 hectares of land at 1200 meters altitude, containing collections of local tree species and rare Armenian plants.
The Institute of Botany established this scientific center in 1935, followed by the construction of its first greenhouse measuring 25 square meters in 1939.
The garden maintains research partnerships with Armenian universities and organizes educational programs about plant conservation and ecological matters for local schools.
Visitors can explore specialized sections featuring tropical plants, subtropical species, and succulent varieties housed in temperature-controlled greenhouses.
The herbarium preserves 500 specimens including endemic Armenian flora, with particular focus on Syringa, Clematis, and Sorbus species.
