Mayravank

The Mayravank Monastery stands on elevated terrain with a basalt church structure featuring a central dome and rectangular deposits on both sides of the tabernacle.

The monastery originated in the seventh century when Hovhan Mayravanetsi established it, leading to its later renaming as Mayragom by Catholicos Ezr Parajnaketsi.

The monastery includes the Surb Astvatsatsin Church from the eleventh century, displaying characteristic Armenian architectural elements with its western entrance and half-columns.

The monastery remains are accessible through the village of Solak in Kotayk Province, with remnants of fellowship buildings visible on three sides of the structure.

An inscription from 1224 remains visible on the western wall, while the eastern facade contains detailed triangular and double niches demonstrating Armenian masonry.
