The stadium opened its doors on March 25, 1934, with a friendly match between Gimnasia y Esgrima and their Santa Fe counterparts, drawing 20,000 spectators.
The venue hosted the Grape Harvest National Festival in 1936 and 1937, marking significant events in Mendoza's wine-making heritage and traditions.
Located at the intersection of Boulogne Sur Mer and Carlos Washington Lencinas avenues, the stadium includes modern facilities with a gym under the west stands.
This stadium became the first in Mendoza province to install artificial lighting, inaugurating its system on February 13, 1943, during a match against Lanús.
