Quispicanchi Province

The province spans 7,564 square kilometers across southern Peru, encompassing twelve districts with Urcos serving as the administrative center and capital.

The Pikillaqta archaeological site within the province contains substantial remains of pre-Columbian urban structures dating from ancient Andean civilizations.

The population maintains strong indigenous traditions, with over 75 percent of residents speaking Quechua as their first language across all twelve districts.

The province connects to neighboring regions through multiple road networks, allowing access to Paucartambo Province, Madre de Dios Region, and Puno Region.

The Willkanuta mountain range crosses the province, featuring peaks such as Ausangate and containing multiple lakes including Siwinaqucha and Sinkrinaqucha.
