Alameda Chabuca Granda is a paved esplanade and viewpoint on the Rímac River beside the Government Palace, with three amphitheatres and stages. From it you see the Rímac district, San Cristóbal hill, Desamparados station, the Stone Bridge and the Rayitos de Sol bridge. A red iron sculpture, La Marinera, crowns the site.

The esplanade was built in 1998 on the site of the former Polvos Azules market, next to the Government Palace and the Rímac River. It was named after Chabuca Granda, the Peruvian singer-songwriter of criollo waltzes and Afro-Peruvian rhythms. In 2021 remains of the Aliaga mill, built in the 16th and 17th centuries on land granted by Francisco Pizarro to Gerónimo de Aliaga, were reported beneath it; in 2025 vestiges of a 16th-century brick-and-lime arch bridge were found nearby.

The alameda is named after Chabuca Granda, the Peruvian singer-songwriter who created and performed criollo waltzes and Afro-Peruvian rhythms. At its end stands "La Marinera", a large unchromed iron sculpture painted red by Rhony Alhalel, honouring the national dance. Its amphitheatres host street comedians and popular music, and food modules sell typical Lima dishes and desserts.

The esplanade opens onto the Rímac riverbank next to the Government Palace, with the Puente de Piedra and Desamparados station visible from the edge. The paving is flat and open, with block benches and lamp posts for resting between performances.

Beneath the esplanade lie the remains of the Molino de Aliaga, one of the first mills built in Lima, which operated in the 16th and 17th centuries on land Francisco Pizarro granted to the conquistador Gerónimo de Aliaga. In 2025, vestiges of a 16th-century brick-and-lime arch bridge were reported close to the Government Palace, along with carved stones bearing Latin inscriptions.
