Casa de la Literatura Peruana, Cultural center in Lima District, Peru
The Casa de la Literatura Peruana occupies a three-story building with a symmetrical facade featuring classical pilasters and a glass-covered central space.
Originally constructed as Desamparados railway station in 1912, the building marked the starting point for train journeys from Lima to the central Andes.
The center maintains thirteen exhibition rooms dedicated to Peruvian literary movements, authors, and their contributions to national literature through different periods.
The facility provides guided tours in Spanish and English, incorporating specialized library services and spaces for research about Peruvian literature.
The building preserves the original ticket booth from its railway station days, while integrating modern exhibition spaces and a stained glass Art Nouveau skylight.
