The Museum of the Fighters of Morro de Arica displays military artifacts, documents, and personal belongings from soldiers who fought in the Pacific War.
The museum opened in 1975 inside the former residence of Colonel Francisco Bolognesi, who died defending Morro de Arica during the 1880 battle.
The collection includes the paintings 'La respuesta' and 'El último cartucho' by Juan Lepiani, depicting crucial moments of the Peruvian resistance.
Located at Jiron Cailloma 125 near Plaza de Armas, the museum operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturdays until 1:00 PM.
The museum preserves the original Peruvian flag that flew over Morro de Arica before the territory became part of Chile after the war.
