Chayu Nain Communal Reserve

The Chayu Nain Communal Reserve spans 94,967 hectares across the provinces of Bagua and Utcubamba in the Amazonas region of Peru.

The National Service of Natural Protected Areas established this conservation zone on December 9, 2009, through Supreme Decree No. 021-2009-MINAM.

Three indigenous communities participate in the management of the reserve, integrating traditional practices with modern conservation methods.

Visitors need to obtain permits from SERNANP and coordinate with local authorities before entering the protected area.

The reserve implements a natural rubber production program that combines forest preservation with economic opportunities for local communities.
