Parque Patricios

Parque Patricios is an administrative district in southern Buenos Aires that spreads across several square kilometers with mixed urban development. The area features residential blocks alongside government buildings, medical centers, and green spaces woven throughout the neighborhood.

The district underwent a major transformation in the early 1900s when slaughterhouses, waste facilities, and a former cemetery were relocated or closed. This cleanup opened the way for development into a modern residential neighborhood serving the expanding city.

The neighborhood takes its name from the central park, which residents visit regularly and which hosts various local events throughout the year. This green space shapes daily life here and serves as a key meeting point for the community.

The neighborhood is served by the Parque Patricios station on Line H of the subway system, making it easy to travel throughout the city. The area is also well-connected by local bus routes that help you get around within the district and to surrounding areas.

The central government headquarters of Buenos Aires moved to this district in 2015 into a modern building designed by architect Norman Foster. This significant administrative building has become a defining landmark that shapes the district's contemporary urban character.
