Torres de Matheu

Torres de Matheu is a residential tower complex in Parque Patricios featuring six high-rise buildings, each with 21 floors and a range of apartment sizes spread throughout the development. The buildings are distributed across two main streets and contain approximately 840 units with varying configurations.

Architects Miguel C. Roca and Roberto Fernández Llanos designed this residential complex in the 1960s as a housing initiative for commerce employees. The project represented a new approach to urban residential development through vertical construction methods.

The complex represents the urban residential development strategy of Buenos Aires, providing housing solutions through vertical construction methods.

The complex is accessible from both Matheu and Alberti Streets, with clear orientation provided by the distinct tower arrangement throughout the site. Multiple elevators serve each building, making movement through the different sections straightforward for visitors.

Five of the six towers along Matheu Street are connected through their distinctive cross-shaped floor plans and touch each other at their upper levels. This unusual linking creates a visual feature that distinguishes the composition of the entire complex.
