Saavedra, Residential district in northern Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Saavedra is a residential neighborhood in northern Buenos Aires with tree-lined streets, parks, and a mix of single-story houses and modern buildings. The area spans across several square kilometers and is crossed by major roads like Avenida Cabildo and Avenida Ricardo Balbín.

The neighborhood began in 1873 when Luis María Saavedra acquired a large tract of land and developed it. The area grew steadily over the following decades and became an important residential district in northern Buenos Aires.

The neighborhood was home to Roberto Goyeneche, a renowned tango singer whose presence shaped its musical identity. The Municipal Historical Museum Cornelio Saavedra tells the story of this connection and reflects how the area became woven into Buenos Aires' tango heritage.

The area is well connected by public transportation, with multiple bus lines linking it to central Buenos Aires. When exploring, use the main avenues like Avenida Cabildo as orientation points to navigate the neighborhood easily.

The neighborhood comprises three distinct sub-neighborhoods with their own characteristics: Barrio Presidente Roque Sáenz Peña, Barrio Mitre, and Barrio Residencial Cornelio Saavedra. Each area has its own character and layout, making the overall district feel varied and multifaceted.
