The Casa de Gobierno features red brick walls, triple Roman arches, four pairs of Ionic columns, and a covered balcony at its monumental entrance.
Construction of this government palace started in November 1882 as the first public building project in La Plata, taking nine years to complete.
The Golden Hall inside the building displays portraits of 14 national heroes, including General San Martin and Belgrano, along with symbols of justice and industry.
Located opposite Plaza San Martin, the building contains two symmetrical wings surrounding interior courtyards, with offices and administrative spaces of the provincial government.
The building's columns present an unusual fusion of architectural styles, with Tuscan elements in their lower half and Egyptian-influenced designs in their upper section.
