Santo Domingo convent, Neoclassical convent and basilica in San Telmo, Argentina.

The Santo Domingo Convent features three naves with barrel vaults, marble-clad interiors, and decorated columns displaying intricate relief patterns throughout the structure.

The Dominican friars established their presence at this site in 1606, with construction of the current building beginning in 1751 under Turin architect Antonio Masella.

The convent stands as a national monument of Argentina, housing religious services, educational programs, and regular community prayer sessions in the heart of Buenos Aires.

The convent opens daily for masses at 12:30 on weekdays and 11:00 on Sundays, with confessions available during services and guided tours by arrangement.

Within its walls rests the mausoleum of Manuel Belgrano, a national hero buried in Dominican habit, alongside captured British military flags from the 1807 invasion.
