Alvear Tower, Modern residential skyscraper in Puerto Madero, Argentina.
Alvear Tower is a modern residential skyscraper in Puerto Madero that rises 235 meters with 53 floors, wrapped in glass and concrete surfaces. The building houses around 175 apartments and stands as a slender vertical form that marks the harbor landscape.
Construction began in 2012 and was completed in 2019, marking an important moment in Puerto Madero's transformation into a residential neighborhood. The project represented a major investment in urban renewal and high-rise residential development in the harbor zone.
The tower shows how Buenos Aires has become a hub for luxury living and represents the architectural standards that wealthy residents expect in the city. Walking around the building, you notice how it changed the neighborhood's look and the way people think about high-rise living here.
The building is easy to spot from the waterfront promenade and serves as a clear landmark when exploring the harbor. Access is limited to the lobby level, but the area around the tower offers plenty of public pathways and gathering spaces to walk through.
During construction, a self-climbing formwork system was used to reduce wind risks and protect workers during the building process. This innovative technique was introduced to Argentina for the first time on this project.
