Edificio de la Cervecería Munich, Eclectic architecture building in Puerto Madero, Argentina.

The Munich Brewery Building is a three-story structure with eclectic design in Puerto Madero, featuring decorative moldings, stained glass windows, and handcrafted elements throughout. The exterior walls display painted scenes of Bavarian folk traditions and brewery motifs that make it a visual record of the era.

Hungarian architect Andrés Kálnay designed and completed the building between 1926 and 1927 in just four months and eight days, a remarkable achievement for that time. The rapid completion demonstrated the modern construction methods and architectural skill driving Buenos Aires during the 1920s.

The building reflects the strong German-speaking immigration wave that shaped Buenos Aires during that era. The ornamental details and Bavarian motifs on the facades show how brewery culture became an important part of the city's social life.

The building is open to the public today and houses cultural institutions and event spaces used regularly for exhibitions and programs. Take time to examine the facade details and interior fittings closely, as many elements were personally designed by hand.

Architect Kálnay not only designed the building but also created most interior elements such as window frames, railings, furniture, and decorative pieces as an integrated whole. This level of personal attention to every detail by one person is rare today and makes the structure a singular artistic statement.
