The Auditorio Nacional de Sodre Dra. Adela Reta spans 25,000 square meters at the intersection of Andes and Mercedes streets in downtown Montevideo.
The building stands on the former site of Teatro Urquiza, which burned down in 1971, leading to construction of the current auditorium from 1989 to 2009.
The Eduardo Fabini Hall seats 2,000 people for symphonic concerts, ballet performances, and opera productions with its 27-meter-high stage and large orchestra pit.
The venue contains twenty rehearsal rooms, two main performance halls, and technical facilities for audio and video recording to support diverse artistic productions.
The stage in Eduardo Fabini Hall measures 15.5 meters wide by 12 meters long, making it the largest performance space in Uruguay.
