Christ the Protector

Christ the Protector is a colossal concrete statue with soapstone elements that rises from a hilltop in Encantado in Rio Grande do Sul. The monument stands approximately 43 meters tall and sits within a developing tourist complex designed to welcome pilgrims and visitors.

Planning for the statue began in 2019 under Mayor Adroaldo Conzatti's leadership and construction finished in 2022. The project reflects the region's strong religious heritage and represents a significant development for the local community.

The statue embodies the deep faith of local residents and draws visitors seeking spiritual connection. It has become an important gathering place and symbol of regional pride for the community.

The site is best visited during dry weather when climbing conditions are safest for getting around the hilltop area. The statue welcomes visitors primarily on weekends and Brazilian holidays when the complex is fully open.

An internal elevator climbs to a heart-shaped viewing platform where visitors can take in the surroundings from within the statue itself. This architectural feature gives an unusual perspective that few colossal monuments offer.
