Polvorilla viaduct, Railway bridge in San Antonio de los Cobres, Argentina.

Steel bridge stretches 224 meters across a valley at 4,200 meters elevation, connecting mountain regions through an engineering structure with six pillars.

Completed in 1932 by Italian shipyard Cantiere Navale Triestino of Monfalcone, the bridge opened in 1939 as part of the railway network expansion.

The Train to the Clouds route across this bridge represents Argentina's determination to establish transportation networks through mountainous Andean terrain.

Access to the viaduct requires advance booking through train services from Salta city, with tours operating regularly during favorable weather conditions.

At 63 meters high, this railway bridge ranks among the highest elevation rail structures globally, matching the height of Buenos Aires Obelisk.
