Volcán Quehuar, Stratovolcano in Salta Province, Argentina.
The Quehuar volcano reaches an elevation of 6,140 meters and features a broad crater at its summit in the Nevados de los Pastos Grandes range.
The Inca people constructed an 80-square-meter platform at the summit, which Antonio Beorchia Nigris first documented in modern times during 1974.
The volcano bears the name of the Quehuare ethnic group, who lived south of Cusco and held the designation 'Incas by privilege'.
Access to the volcano requires travel through National Route 51, with September to November offering the most favorable climbing conditions.
Archaeological excavations uncovered frozen human remains from Inca ceremonial sacrifices, along with textiles and ceramic objects at the summit.
