Caverna Puente del Diablo, Natural cave in La Poma, Argentina.
The Devil's Bridge Cave extends 110 meters along the Calchaquí River, featuring three entrances at an elevation of 3,000 meters above sea level.
The first official exploration of the cave occurred in 1999 by a team of Argentine speleologists, including Luis Carabelli, Rolando Vergara, Enrique Lipps, and Sergio Silva.
Indigenous communities used this natural formation as a crossing point for livestock transportation during pre-Hispanic times in the Calchaquí Valley region.
Access to the cave requires guidance from authorized personnel due to slippery rocks and the strong current of the underground Calchaquí River.
The cave's interior displays geological formations shaped by basaltic lava from the Twin volcanoes, creating stalactites and stalagmites through calcium carbonate deposits.
