La Casona

La Casona is a 27-story residential tower standing about 127 m tall in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The building houses apartments in its upper levels while its ground and lower floors contain commercial spaces, a minimarket, and retail stores.

The building was constructed between 2007 and 2009 and briefly held the title of Bolivia's tallest structure. By 2013 it lost this distinction when another tower in La Paz became taller.

The building sits on Cristobal de Mendoza Avenue and shows how Santa Cruz de la Sierra transformed from a colonial town into a modern urban center. Its presence marks this shift in the city's appearance and character.

The building is well served by multiple elevators and has separate access points for its various sections. Visiting the ground-level shops and minimarket is straightforward with direct street access.
