Praia do Santinho, Beach in Florianópolis, Brazil

Praia do Santinho, also called Praia das Aranhas, is a beach in the municipality of Florianópolis, on the northeast of Santa Catarina Island. It is a wide band of sand about 1,200 m long, set between two rocky points that separate it from Praia dos Ingleses to the north and Praia do Moçambique to the south. Carved rock inscriptions are visible on the rocks at the southern end.

Rock carvings at this location date back around 4000 years and feature geometric and human-like figures created by indigenous peoples. These marks are among the oldest evidence of human settlement on the coast of this region.

The beach is also called Praia das Aranhas, and the name Santinho is linked to the rock carvings on the southern rocks, which are said to resemble small saints. Visitors can see these inscriptions on the rocks at the south end of the beach.

The beach offers showers, restrooms, and restaurants, with a wooden deck providing views of the coastline. Basic facilities make it easy to spend several hours here without needing to travel far.

The beach is also called Praia das Aranhas, meaning beach of the spiders. At its southern end, on the rocks, visitors can see curious rock carvings, the detail most people walk past on the way to the sand.
