Dunas da Lagoa da Conceição Municipal Nature Park

The protected area spans 744 hectares, featuring extensive sand dunes, lagoons, and water courses surrounded by diverse coastal vegetation patterns.

Established as a city heritage site in 1975, the area received official park status in 1988 and expanded its protected territory in 2018.

The park serves as an environmental education center where researchers study 326 plant species and document the presence of migratory birds.

Visitors can access marked trails for hiking, observe wildlife, practice sandboarding on the dunes, and use designated areas for outdoor activities.

The park protects the Campeche Aquifer, an underground freshwater reservoir, while providing habitats for endemic species like the sand lizard.
