Forte Marechal Luz, Military fortress in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Located at Joao Dias Point, the fortress contains military buildings painted in orange tones against the backdrop of ocean and vegetation.
Built in 1909 upon ruins of a previous fortification, the structure features Armstrong cannons, including two 120mm QF and two 152mm BL from Benjamin Constant Cruiser.
The fortress honors Marshal Francisco Carlos da Luz, a military officer who served during both the Imperial period and early Republic of Brazil.
The fortress welcomes visitors daily from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with guided tours available through advance reservations at the Social Communication Department.
Every Saturday at 8:00 AM, the garrison performs a flag exchange ceremony wearing historical uniforms, accompanied by cannon fire salutes.
