Pinhais, Administrative division in Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, Brazil
Pinhais is a city in the metropolitan area of Curitiba, Paraná state, situated at approximately 900 meters elevation. The municipality covers about 61 square kilometers and features residential neighborhoods mixed with local shops and services.
Pinhais was formerly part of the neighboring municipality of Piraquara until gaining independence in 1992. This separation marked an important turning point for local development and administration.
The region represents Brazilian urban development with its nickname 'Terra dos pinheirais', reflecting the historical presence of pine forests in the area.
The city is connected to neighboring municipalities through an integrated transportation system that links the entire metropolitan region. Visitors can easily find bus stops and local connections to Curitiba and other nearby areas.
