Museu Historico e Pedagogico Prudente de Moraes is a collection housed in a historic residence that preserves around 12,000 objects spanning multiple centuries. The collection includes indigenous artifacts, weapons, furnishings, religious objects, coins, and personal correspondence that document life in Piracicaba over time.

The building served as the residence of Prudente de Moraes, Brazil's first civilian president, from 1870 until the early 1900s. After his time there, it transformed into a teaching institution and eventually into a museum dedicated to preserving regional history.

The museum's name honours Prudente de Moraes, the Piracicaba-born lawyer who became Brazil's first civilian president. Its eight permanent rooms follow a chronological route from Piracicaba Indígena through the town's colonial vila, religiosity, urbanisation, technology and immigration, to his political career, the Guerra de Canudos and his family life. The collection grew entirely from private donations, opened by Jacob Dihl Neto's gift of the provincial deputy diploma Moraes won in 1869.
