Amantikir, Garden complex in Campos do Jordão, Brazil
Amantikir is a garden park in Campos do Jordão featuring 26 themed garden spaces inspired by different countries, with lakes, bridges, and two labyrinths throughout the grounds. Visitors can walk through areas representing various garden styles and natural settings.
The park was established in 2007 by a landscape designer and agricultural engineer who traveled the world to gather inspiration from different garden traditions. These international influences shaped the park's diverse design from the start.
The name Amantikir comes from the Tupi language and means 'Mountain that Cries', referencing the Serra da Mantiqueira mountains nearby. You can sense this connection to the local landscape as you walk through the different garden spaces.
Visit early in the day when the pathways are less crowded and the light is best for exploring the gardens. Wear comfortable shoes since there is considerable walking involved and the terrain has slopes and elevation changes.
One of the park's labyrinths was designed following European castle garden patterns and offers visitors a fun challenge as they navigate its winding corridors. Getting lost in its passages becomes part of the experience rather than a frustration.
