Mananciais de Campos do Jordão State Park

The Mananciais de Campos do Jordão State Park spans 503 hectares, featuring high-altitude Atlantic Forest and Pine Forest at the heart of São Paulo state.

The park originated from two land plots acquired by the state government in the 1940s during the administration of the Campos do Jordão Sanitary Prefecture.

The park serves as a vital research center for scientists studying the Atlantic Forest ecosystem and its diverse bird species, including rare parrots.

The Salto Dam within the park supplies up to 30 percent of the water needs for the entire municipality of Campos do Jordão.

The protected area contains 178 bird species, representing 11 percent of Brazil's total bird population and 30 percent of São Paulo state's avian diversity.
