Gruta dos Crioulos, Natural cave in São Paulo, Brazil
Gruta dos Crioulos features a rounded interior structure with a height of 30 meters and extends 20 meters deep into the mountain terrain.
During Brazil's period of slavery, the cave provided shelter to numerous escaped individuals who found refuge within its protective walls.
Local residents speak of mysterious sounds near the cave during full moon nights, reflecting the deep connection between the location and Brazilian slavery history.
The cave entrance stands at 1,677 meters above sea level and can be accessed through Estrada da Campista, following signs from Vila Jaguaribe.
The natural formation covers 700 square meters and contains particular geological patterns that showcase the regional rock formations.
