Centro de Memória do Circo

The Centro de Memória do Circo is a two-level museum within Galeria Olido dedicated to circus arts and performance history. The exhibition spaces display costumes, photographs, documents, and audiovisual content that record different aspects of this form of entertainment.

The museum was founded in 2009 following a donation of items from Circo Garcia, which toured Brazil between 1928 and 2003. A significant collection of Piolin the clown's memorabilia was later added, enriching the institution's holdings.

The museum celebrates the circus tradition through costumes, photographs, and personal items collected by performer families across generations. These objects show how circus arts became both a craft and a way of life that people passed down through their families.

The museum is located within an urban arts building and open several days per week to visitors. Plan enough time to explore the different exhibition areas and view the audiovisual materials at a comfortable pace.
