Cine Ipiranga

The Cine Ipiranga sits at 786 Avenida Ipiranga, combining a cinema hall on the lower level with a hotel structure above, both featuring geometric lines and marble details. This architectural arrangement stacks functions vertically to make efficient use of the urban site.

Architect Rino Levi designed this cinema complex in 1943 at the corner of Avenida Ipiranga and Sao Joao. The building received protection status from CONDEPHAAT in 2014, preserving its original features like handrails, lighting fixtures, and architectural details.

The cinema served as part of the Serrador circuit, showing films to many generations of São Paulo residents. Its protected geometric design reflects how this building functioned as a gathering place for entertainment and social connection.
