The Cine Ipiranga building stands at 786 Avenida Ipiranga, featuring a cinema hall beneath a hotel structure with geometric lines and marble decorations.
Brazilian architect Rino Levi designed this cinema complex in 1943, creating a space that accommodated 1,936 spectators at the intersection of Avenida Ipiranga and São João.
The cinema operated as part of the Serrador Cinematographic Company circuit until 2005, presenting films to multiple generations of São Paulo residents.
The building received protection status from CONDEPHAAT in 2014, maintaining original features such as handrails, lighting fixtures, and architectural elements from its inauguration.
Engineers implemented large beams to support the hotel tower above without interfering with the cinema space, maximizing the use of limited ground space.
