Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo occupies several buildings with laboratories, lecture halls, and research centers in the Cerqueira César neighborhood. The campus spreads across multiple blocks and combines modern structures with older facilities built over the decades.

The school was founded in 1912 and later received support from the Rockefeller Foundation to develop its teaching hospital model. This partnership shaped the evolution of medical research and education in Brazil throughout the 20th century.

The institution trains doctors who go on to work throughout Brazil's healthcare system, with each graduating class numbering around 175 students. Clinical training takes place in affiliated hospitals where future physicians gain hands-on experience across different specialties.
