Torre TV Bandeirantes, Television tower in Consolação district, São Paulo, Brazil
Torre TV Bandeirantes is a television tower in the Consolação district, standing 212 meters tall with a steel lattice frame that shifts in color from red at its base to white at its peak. The first four floors contain concrete structures housing broadcast studios and transmission equipment for the station's operations.
The tower was completed in 1997, replacing earlier transmitters previously located at Pico do Jaraguá. Its construction represented a significant shift in how the city's broadcast infrastructure was organized and centralized.
The tower serves as the primary broadcasting center for Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação, transmitting television and radio signals across the metropolitan area.
The tower sits between Avenida Dr. Arnaldo and Praça dos Arcos, making it accessible by public transport in the downtown area. Visitors can view the external structure from street level in this busy urban neighborhood.
In 2011, the structure received an upgrade featuring 30,000 LED lights that transformed how it appears at night. This lighting installation makes it a visible landmark that stands out distinctly from the surrounding cityscape after dark.
