Estúdios Globo, Television production center in Jacarepaguá, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Estúdios Globo is a large television production center in Jacarepaguá, a district in the western part of Rio de Janeiro. The site contains thirteen recording studios, constructed city sets, and several technical departments used to produce television programs.
The facility opened on October 2nd, 1995, after more than a decade of planning. It brought together all production activities in one place, which had previously been spread across multiple rented locations.
This facility is home to the network that creates many of the series and programs broadcast throughout the country and much of Latin America. Millions of viewers follow the programs filmed here regularly, which have become part of everyday life in many households.
Visitors should keep in mind that this is an active production site with filming taking place daily. Access is typically limited, and some areas may be closed due to ongoing production work.
The grounds include fully constructed cities and streets that can be used for different filming needs. These sets allow crews to recreate a wide range of locations without leaving the property.
