Farmasi Arena, Entertainment venue in Barra da Tijuca, Brazil

Farmasi Arena is a multi-purpose hall in Barra da Tijuca that stretches across several levels and holds nearly 15,000 spectators. The seating arrangement adjusts depending on the type of event, from sports matches to large music performances.

The arena was inaugurated on 7 July 2007 with an artistic gymnastics presentation, days before the 2007 Pan American Games, and was built inside the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet. In 2008 the British bank HSBC bought the naming rights, and in 2016 the name became RioArena to comply with IOC rules on sponsorship at Olympic venues. Jeunesse acquired the rights in January 2017, and in March 2024 the cosmetics brand Farmasi bought them from GL Events.

The name has changed with each naming-rights buyer: HSBC in 2008, RioArena in 2016 for Olympic rules, Jeunesse from 2017 to 2023, and Farmasi, a cosmetics brand, from March 2024. The arena hosts SESC-RJ volleyball league matches and esports finals such as the 2019 CBLoL, won by Flamengo Esports.

The site sits near the Riocentro convention center and is reachable via Avenida Embaixador Abelardo Bueno, where parking is available in several adjacent areas. Entrances are separated by ticket categories, so checking your ticket before arrival helps.

The arena's retractable stands can be rearranged to hold between 300 and 18,000 people, and its rainwater reuse system relies on four reservoirs of 160,000 litres each.
