Farmasi Arena

Farmasi Arena is a multi-purpose hall in Barra da Tijuca that stretches across several levels and holds nearly 15,000 spectators. The seating arrangement adjusts depending on the type of event, from sports matches to large music performances.

The hall opened its doors in September 2007 under the name HSBC Arena and served during the 2016 Olympic Games as a venue for different competitions. The current name came about in 2016 after a change of main sponsor.

The venue takes its name from a sponsorship agreement that began in 2016 and appears on the exterior signage of the building. Visitors use the complex for concerts by international artists and national sports competitions, reflected in the bilingual signage inside.

The site sits near the Riocentro convention center and is reachable via Avenida Embaixador Abelardo Bueno, where parking is available in several adjacent areas. Entrances are separated by ticket categories, so checking your ticket before arrival helps.

The roof of the hall consists of a free-standing steel construction that requires no internal support columns and thus allows clear views from all seats. This construction method was one of the largest of its kind in Latin America at the time of completion.
