José Chiachiri Municipal Historical Museum, Municipal historical museum in Franca, Brazil.
The museum occupies a former public jail and city forum building, designed in 1896 by French architect Victor Dubugras with eclectic architectural elements.
Founded in 1957 through Municipal Law 656, the museum was renamed in 1976 to honor José Chiachiri, who led the initial collection campaign during the 1950s.
The institution preserves approximately 4,000 artifacts documenting the development of northwestern São Paulo state, including photographs, furniture, and local newspapers from 1881 to 1995.
The museum maintains a research library with regional materials, manuscripts, and digitized documents from the Franca Municipal Chamber and City Hall in climate-controlled rooms.
The collection includes military uniforms and documents from local participants in the 1932 Constitutional Revolution of São Paulo against the federal government.
