Goiatuba spans across 2,470 square kilometers of land at an elevation of 720 meters, positioned 176 kilometers from the state capital Goiânia.
The settlement emerged in 1860 when ranchers from Minas Gerais arrived in the area, initially naming it Bananeiras due to numerous banana trees.
The municipality maintains a strong educational focus with 24 schools serving over 9,250 students and achieving an 88.8 percent literacy rate.
