Parque das Águas

Parque das Águas is a green space with nine mineral water springs and recreational facilities set within preserved Atlantic Forest. The grounds include swimming areas, sports courts, and paths for exploring the different springs and forest.

Natural mineral water springs were discovered in the 1800s, leading a company to develop this site as a resort in the 1930s. The park emerged during a period when mineral water destinations were becoming popular wellness destinations in Brazil.

The site draws people for evening heron watching, when the white birds return to roost, creating a shared experience tied to the local rhythm. This daily event has become part of how visitors and residents experience the place together.

Early morning or late afternoon are the best times to explore when crowds are fewer and paths feel less busy. Bring swimwear and allow time to sample the different water sources.

Each of the nine springs has its own mineral composition, ranging from sulfurous to alkaline waters, with different properties. Visitors often create their own route through the springs to notice how the waters vary in taste and feel.
