Santa Helena de Goiás

Santa Helena de Goiás is a municipality in southwestern Goiás, located roughly 195 kilometers from the state capital Goiânia. The town sits at 562 meters elevation and covers approximately 1,127 square kilometers.

The area was founded in 1934 when Custódio P. Vêncio purchased land in Buriti Alegre and established a settlement. It received its current name and official municipal status in 1948.

The municipality maintains 25 educational institutions serving 9,733 students, including a state university campus offering programs in Agrobusiness, Mathematics, and Information Systems.

The municipality operates several hospitals and medical clinics to serve its population's healthcare needs. Local schools and educational institutions provide learning opportunities for families throughout the area.
