Corumbá de Goiás, Colonial municipality in central Goiás, Brazil.
Corumbá de Goiás is a Brazilian municipality situated in the highlands of Goiás at about 950 meters elevation. The town spreads across roughly 1,062 square kilometers of terrain near Pirineus State Park.
The settlement began in 1731 when gold miners established a camp where the Corumbá and Bagagem rivers meet. It gained municipal status in 1902.
The Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Penha de França anchors the town center and draws visitors to explore the colonial structures surrounding it. The local architecture still shows traces of the settlement's past in its stone buildings and narrow streets.
The town provides basic services including schools, hospitals, and highway connections to larger cities. Goiânia is roughly 110 kilometers away and accessible by major roads.
The Salto de Corumbá waterfalls and surrounding caves offer natural experiences within the protected Pirineus State Park area. These sites are often overlooked but worth discovering for those exploring the region.
