Parish Church of Our Lady of the Rosary

The church features a rectangular floor plan with two lateral corridors, twin towers with pyramid-shaped tops, and load-bearing walls of stone and brick.

Construction began in the late 16th century with funding from local residents and Portuguese Crown, with King John V donating eight thousand cruzados.

The interior walls display extensive Portuguese tile work reaching four meters in height, forming the largest collection of Portuguese tiles outside Portugal.

The building stands between Ana Nery Street and 13 de Maio Square in the lower part of Cachoeira's historic center.

The nave ceiling exhibits Italian illusionistic painting created by José Joaquim da Rocha, complementing the rococo-style side altars and neoclassical main altar.
