Terreiro Bate Folha, Candomblé religious center in Salvador, Brazil

Terreiro Bate Folha extends across 14.8 hectares of land, containing multiple ceremonial buildings surrounded by Atlantic Forest preservation areas.

Founded in 1916 by Manoel Bernardino da Paixão, this religious center became a protected heritage site by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute in 2003.

The center maintains Congo-Angola religious traditions through ceremonies, languages, and practices passed down through generations since its establishment.

Located at Primeira Avenida Dionísio Brito Santana in the Mata Escura district, the center preserves 70 percent of its territory as natural forest.

The religious center cultivates sacred plants in a dedicated forest area called manhonga, where members maintain traditional knowledge of local flora.
