Estádio Rei Pelé, Football stadium in Maceió, Brazil

Estádio Rei Pelé, nicknamed Trapichão, is an open-air football ground in the Trapiche da Barra neighbourhood of Maceió, Alagoas. A flat grass pitch with a centre circle and penalty areas is bordered by low dark barriers and advertising boards, with curved tiered seating along the far touchline and around the left corner beneath a long roof with red trim. Four slender floodlight poles rise above the stands. Capacity is 17,126.

The stadium was inaugurated on 25 October 1970 with a friendly between a Alagoas State All-Stars side and Santos, who won 5-0; Pelé, recently a world champion in Mexico, played and scored twice, and Santos' Douglas scored the ground's first goal. The inaugural crowd of 45,865 remains the attendance record. It was initially to be named after governor Lamenha Filho, who built it, but the name was changed after Brazil's third world title.

The stadium is the only one in Brazil named after Pelé, nicknamed "O Rei". Its popular name, Trapichão, comes from the Trapiche da Barra neighbourhood where it stands. Inside are the Museu dos Esportes Edvaldo Alves Santa Rosa, the Hall da Fama and the Memorial Rainha Marta, honouring the Alagoan player Dida and the striker Marta.

The stadium is accessible by public transportation and offers visitors the chance to explore the facilities with a guided tour. It is helpful to check in advance whether matches or special events are scheduled before planning a visit.

The stadium complex holds the Museu dos Esportes Edvaldo Alves Santa Rosa, named after the Alagoan forward Dida (1934–2002) who played for Flamengo and Brazil. The same building houses a Hall of Fame and the Memorial Rainha Marta, honouring Marta, and in 2010 Pelé and Douglas, scorer of the ground's first goal, left footprints in the stadium's calçada da fama.
