Teatro Deodoro, Historic theatre in central Maceió, Brazil
Teatro Deodoro features a neoclassical performance hall with 690 seats, Italian-style stage, boxes, and detailed bronze chandelier.
The foundation stone was laid in 1905 under architect Luiz Lucariny's design, and the theatre opened its doors on November 15, 1910.
The theatre's noble hall, formerly a public library, has served as venue for official balls, government receptions, and cultural exhibitions.
The building includes spaces for exhibitions, cocktail events, and shows in its entrance hall, making it adaptable for various functions.
Between 1914 and 1933, the theatre temporarily operated as a cinema, leading to protests from intellectuals until its return to theatrical performances.
