Governor's Residence Park

Governor's Residence Park is an urban green space with walking paths, garden areas, and seating throughout its grounds in the São Brás district. The site includes various planted sections and different areas designed for people to move through and rest.

The grounds received official protection status and were classified as a DPHAC heritage site in 1982. This designation means the area was recognized as worth preserving under heritage protection laws.

Locals use the grounds as a natural gathering place where people spend time under large trees and experience the outdoor environment. The space has become a living center where city life unfolds and different groups come together throughout the day.

The park is located on Avenida Magalhães Barata with multiple entry points, giving visitors flexibility in how they approach the site. Regular opening hours make it accessible for visits during normal daytime periods.

A commemorative statue of Rui Barata stands within the grounds, honoring a local historical figure whose name connects to the city's past. This memorial often goes unnoticed by visitors despite being a meaningful feature of the space.
