Aquário Natal

Aquário Natal is a marine life museum in Extremoz with several exhibition zones displaying around 200 animals from about 60 different species. The tanks are arranged to show visitors different aquatic habitats and how the creatures live in their natural environments.

This facility was founded in 1999 and quickly became an important educational center for marine research in northeastern Brazil. From its opening, it focused on supporting local schools and raising awareness about ocean conservation.

This place serves the community as a center where schools bring students to learn about ocean life and local conservation efforts. The staff engage directly with visitors to share knowledge about the creatures and their natural behaviors.

The museum is located outside Natal and is open daily for visitors. Plan your visit for the morning when it is less crowded and the animals are more active and visible.

This facility houses sand tiger sharks, animals normally seen only in the open ocean in this region. Many visitors are surprised to observe these predators up close in a safe setting.
